Description

In this special introduction to Asian elephants, you will learn about the significance of the elephants’ wellbeing and the ethical management of these lovely gentle giants. The Phang Nga Elephant Park has been providing for the welfare of the elephants for more than 150 years. With a gorgeous Thailand forest backdrop, your experience will continue as you feed the elephants with unique and healthy food. Then, while being accompanied by your guide, you will finish the age-old custom of cleaning the elephants’ skin with tree bark that has been used for generations. Then, while taking a dip in the rock pool with your elephant buddy, you’ll make lifelong memories. Your time will be finished with refreshments and fresh tropic fruit, we have no doubt your time with the elephants will live long in the memory.

A minimum of 2 people is required for this experience with a maximum of 10 people per booking.

Equipment

You’re welcome to bring your camera, suncream, insect repellent, a hat, waterproof clothing (weather dependent) trainers and swimwear for the bathing experience. Feel free to bring anything else essential to you.
We recommend bringing swimwear, a change of clothes and a towel for after the bathing experience.

Itinerary

• Hotel pick-up in an air-conditioned vehicle. Please note that although we try to arrive as close as possible to the notified time, pick-up times do vary depending on your location.
• You will arrive at Phang Nga Elephant Park at 9.30 a.m. or 12.30 p.m. On arrival at the Park, you will meet your guide and be offered our refreshing signature welcome drink.
• After your mandatory safety briefing, we will discuss the importance of the ethical management of the Asian elephant and why animal welfare is paramount and at the heart of our work.
• You will then have the chance to meet and feed your elephant with a special and nutritious snack that you have prepared.
• You will be invited to scrub your elephant’s skin with a special vine used for centuries for this purpose.
• You will then have a life-enhancing experience of bathing together with your elephant in our rock pool.
• Finally, we will recharge your batteries with refreshments including delicious tropic fresh fruit.
