Description

For more than 150 years, the Phang Nga Elephant Park has provided unique experiences to thousands of visitors while caring for elephants. With your guide by your side, you will observe the elephants’ health checks and get to know your companion for the evening during this dusk elephant experience. You will feed your elephant a special snack before your trip starts, and you will then take him for a nighttime bath in the river. The elephant will spend the night foraging in the jungle after you have accompanied it into the jungle and then you will wrap off your adventure by returning to the park where you will be treated to a traditional freshly prepared Thai supper. We have no doubt this experience will create memories of a lifetime as you enjoy the dusk fall in the jungle with the subtle background jungle noises.

Please note that there is a minimum requirement of 2 people per experience and a maximum of 10 people per booking.

Please note children under the age of 14 may not participate in this programme for safety reasons. Other experiences such as the Elephant Care Experience or Family Elephant Experience are available for younger children.

• Travel insurance (cover against cancellation costs, medical expenses, including repatriation, in the event of accident or illness). We highly recommend you arrange appropriate insurance in your home country

Equipment

You’re welcome to bring your camera, suncream, insect repellent, a hat, waterproof clothing (weather dependent) trainers and swimwear for the bathing experience. Feel free to bring anything else essential to you.

We recommend bringing swimwear, a change of clothes and a towel for after the bathing experience.

Itinerary

• Hotel pick-up in an air-conditioned vehicle. Please note that although we try to arrive as close as possible to the notified time, pick-up times do vary depending on your location
• Arrive at the Park at 4.00 p.m. On arrival at Phang Nga Elephant Park, you will meet your guide and receive our refreshing signature welcome drink
• You will first have your mandatory safety briefing
• You will then be provided with a Kwan-chang outfit to change into before meeting your elephant and you will wear this for the duration of your experience.
• Your guide will explain the Kwan-chang’s (elephant handler’s) evening routine.
• You will watch a demonstration of an elephant health check and meet your elephant companion for the evening and her Kwan-chang
• Once united with your elephant and her Kwan-chaang you will feed your elephant a special snack before your adventure begins
• Next, you will walk with her to the river for her evening bath
• After the refreshing bath, you will accompany your elephant into the surrounding jungle where she will spend the night foraging
• After you have showered and changed back into your own clothes you will be offered a delicious, freshly-cooked, traditional Thai dinner.
• We will drive you back to your hotel.
