Description

The island of Koh Haa Yai is well-known among scuba divers for the caves, caverns, and canyons that can be found there. However, Koh Haa Yai is also a fantastic location for snorkelling and divers alike. There are a lot of shallow locations that have stunning corals and a wide variety of fascinating marine life.

Since the water is constantly clear, the visibility is always superb, which means that even at depths of 15–20 meters from the surface, you will still be able to appreciate the corals and the surroundings. On occasion, you might even be lucky enough to spot some of the ocean’s largest and most coveted inhabitants, such as whale sharks or manta rays, when diving off the coast of Koh Haa Yai. These gentle giants swim closest to the surface the majority of the time, and snorkelers are typically the ones who see them first.

It will take around two hours to go to Koh Haa Yai by boat from the mainland of Thailand. Once we arrive at our destination, we will make several stops along the way so that you can go snorkelling, spending around an hour at each spot before heading back to the boat to begin the journey back home.

• Travel insurance (cover against cancellation costs, medical expenses, including repatriation, in the event of accident or illness). We highly recommend you arrange appropriate insurance in your home country
• National park fees (300 THB)

Itinerary

• We’ll board the boat as soon as we arrive at the meeting location, whether we pick you up or you meet us there.
• Typically, the journey to Koh Haa Yai takes two hours. This allows us plenty of time to inspect our equipment and unwind before we arrive.
• We’ll finish a dive briefing when we get there and make sure everyone is paired up.
• Then, we’re prepared to make our first dive’s descent.
• After finishing our first dive, we’ll stop for lunch and to complete our logbooks before moving on to the next location and preparing to descend for our second dive of the day.
• It will probably take us two hours to get back.
