Description

This trip around the Sukhothai Loop will take you through some of the most beautiful countryside in northern Thailand over the course of three days. This excursion will take you to some of the most breathtaking and serene winding roads in the Sukhothai World Heritage Historical Park while also allowing you to visit some of the most historic and ancient parts of the city. This tour provides the opportunity to visit the world’s first elephant hospital as well as Thailand’s highest train station, Khun, which has a tunnel that is 1,300 metres long and is the world’s longest tunnel. The Sukhothai Loop offers one-of-a-kind opportunities for sightseeing in the stunning and undiscovered interior of Thailand.

A minimum of one rider is required to book this trip, with a maximum of 10 people per booking.

Gear

We recommend bringing your own gear as it will be the most comfortable, however we do offer helmets, jackets, gloves, and knee guards free of charge. Please note that due to reasons of hygeine, we do not offer boots and trousers, however these, and many other otems are available to buy in our show or pre-order on our website.

Itinerary

Chiang Mai – Uttaradit – Sukhothai – Lampang – Chiang Mai

(Distance: about 700 km. / 440 miles)

Day 1. Chiang Mai – Uttaradit (268 km.)

Get familiar with the bikes by heading south of Chiang Mai. You will ride on a windy mountain road to Khun Tan, the highest train station in Thailand with the longest tunnel (1,300 meters). Then we continue on the highway passing through rice fields until we reach charming Uttaradit. It is a small city near Lampang and a few kilometers away from Denchai. Very few tourists come here to visit the area, but Uttaradit city and its surroundings are worth coming to. If you want to see authentic Thailand, the one not many tourists see, you have to come here. Later you enjoy the beautiful accommodation.

Day 2. Uttaradit – Sukhothai (89 km.)

After breakfast, we leave Uttaradit riding again on backroads and passing through massive rice fields until we reach Sukhothai. A short day of riding gives us plenty of time to discover one of the highlights of this amazing motorcycle tour: the Ancient Sukhothai Historical Park, designated world heritage site number 574 on 12 December 1991 by UNESCO, and enjoy the amazing sunset in the old ruins. A magical and memorable scene. Later you arrive at the guest house, where you enjoy the charming classic wooden Thai accommodation with a swimming pool.

Day 3. Sukhothai – Lampang – Chiang Mai (343 km.)

After breakfast, we leave Sukhothai riding again biker´s paradise roads via the “Columnar Mountains” road R101 to Den Chai, visit a large reclining Buddha. Then riding through winding mountainous roads to Lampang. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Visit the Thai elephant conservation center and the world´s first elephant hospital. Continue riding pass through national parks and farming areas. Visit local market, stopping for refreshment, before heading back to Chiang Mai.
